Sanders and Planers

As part of the “Safe Use of Power Tools Course” FaCT has a sander and planer optional unit

This unit gives practical demonstrations and an assessment on how to use a planer and sander safely and effectively.

This unit meets the requirements of PUWER and is certified by Lantra and added to the candidate’s skills card

Who is the course for?

This course is for carpenters and property maintenance staff who use planers and sanders for their work

Course Duration

This is a opetional unit to the core power tools course and last around an hour

Where

This course can be delivered at our training center workshop or at your venue in the work area

Cost

This additional unit cost £10 per person

For a Sander, we cover

  • Pre-start checks
  • Selecting and fitting the correct sandpaper for the machine
  • PPE requirements
  • Preparing and securing the material
  • Safe and effective operations

  • Checking and replacing the cutting blade for the machine
  • Adjusting the plan depth
  • PPE requirements
